As a Medical Registration Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration and pre-registration of patients, while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure accurate and efficient registration and pre-registration of patients, including professional patient interviews, insurance verification, and computer coding.
- Process admission paperwork and basic insurance verification, ensuring accurate patient identity for hospital billing systems.
- Coordinate and prioritize bed placement needs to ensure prompt and appropriate placement of patients.
- Provide strong communication and excellent customer service skills by greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner.
- Work closely with the Clinical Support Services team to ensure seamless patient flow and resolve any department and patient issues promptly.
- High School Degree or GED
- One to two years of acute care experience
- Knowledge of insurance verification/pre-certification, and benefits
- Ability to perform in multiple computer applications
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in ICD-9 coding is preferred
