Responsibilities:
  • Obtain a detailed patient history, including any eye-related symptoms, medical conditions, and medications.
  • Administer basic vision tests, such as visual acuity and color vision testing, to gather essential information.
  • Conduct a variety of specialized tests, including fundus photography, visual field testing, optical coherence tomography, and corneal topography.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
  • Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) is highly regarded.
  • Strong communication skills and empathy for patient care.
  • Proficiency in operating ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and software.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
