Overview:
The primary role of the Environmental Sustainability Program Manager is to enhance the DHA Sustainability & Environmental (S&E) Portfolio for the Facility Operations Branch (FOB). This position entails comprehensive oversight and execution of training and advisory services for Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs) globally, ensuring adherence to DHA's sustainability initiatives and fostering partnerships with relevant organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, organize, and deliver training sessions and consultations for MTFs, focusing on the DHA Sustainability Workshop Training, while encouraging additional MTFs to engage in annual sustainability awards.
  • Act as the primary liaison for MTFs participating in sustainability awards, maintaining ongoing relationships and facilitating their involvement in the DHA Sustainability Program.
  • Coordinate and execute annual training for MTFs on sustainability applications, ensuring maximum participation across various locations.
  • Identify and prepare MTFs for future participation in sustainability workshops, guiding them towards successful award applications.
  • Create and present comprehensive sustainability program presentations for Facilities Managers, emphasizing their roles in data collection and application processes.
  • Develop and conduct webinars on sustainability topics for MTF Facilities Managers and Environmental Leads, ensuring materials are reviewed and accessible online.
  • Compile and produce the DHA Annual Sustainability Report, reflecting the latest updates on MTF participation and program developments.
  • Update training videos and ensure their availability on appropriate platforms for all MTFs.
  • Prepare budget estimates and justifications to secure necessary program funding.
  • Collaborate with various functional elements to coordinate changes impacting sustainability initiatives.
  • Establish and assess long-term goals and objectives to adapt to program changes.
  • Enhance processes to monitor project efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct thorough analyses and provide recommendations to DHA leadership based on findings.
  • Review and approve documentation to ensure alignment with organizational policies.
  • Support compliance assessments conducted by regulatory bodies related to sustainability.
  • Develop metrics to evaluate program success and effectiveness.
  • Represent the organization at various meetings and conferences, addressing sustainability matters.
  • Engage with federal and non-federal entities to facilitate collaborative solutions.
  • Participate in community working groups to assist in policy development.
  • Conduct briefings and presentations on behalf of the organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Travel may be required up to 50% of the time.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
  • Combination of education and experience demonstrating knowledge of engineering principles.
  • Working knowledge of sustainability platforms and their applications.
  • Active favorable background check.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software.
  • Leadership capabilities and experience in healthcare facilities management.
  • Knowledge of federal sustainability initiatives.
  • Certification as a Healthcare Facility Manager is a plus.
