Safety Manager

The Safety Manager will support the senior safety manager and project team in the successful completion of a construction project. This role is responsible for managing safety and health processes on the project site.
Key Responsibilities- Effectively communicate with project owners, insurance carriers, and Hensel Phelps staff to ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Enhance safety culture through participation in executive safety culture charrettes and assisting the CARES committee.
- Assist project team with safety start-up, program development, implementation, and management.
- Oversee the safety point file system and documentation, maintaining project statistical data.
- Participate in the six-step quality control/safety process, including activity hazard analyses and follow-up inspections.
- Conduct project safety training and assist in developing the project safety training schedule.
- Lead the development and implementation of the project's SAFE program, analyzing project safety trends and implementing initiatives to address unsafe trends.
- Conduct project safety audits and assist in team audits.
- Personnel evaluation and development.
- A 4-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health is preferred.
- Recommended minimum of 3 years of experience in safety on commercial construction projects.
- Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Certification designation is suggested.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Computer software proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel based templates, Prolog, Primavera, and AutoDesk Suite.

Based on position location, a cost of living adjustment (COLA) may also be included (subject to periodic review and adjustment).
