About This Role:
We are looking for a dedicated Research Associate to join our Controlled Environment team. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's or master's degree and demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Your role will be vital in helping Pairwise meet its ambitious objectives while fostering a culture of innovation.
We seek an individual with a passion for horticulture, who enjoys cultivating a variety of plants from seed to seed. Responsibilities will include managing plant growth in controlled settings, collecting data, documenting observations, and communicating findings with internal teams. A strong willingness to learn new techniques and provide support across various projects is essential, along with attention to detail, adaptability, teamwork, and effective communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grow and maintain plant inventory for various projects, including:
- Seed preparation, sowing, and transplanting.
- Monitoring plant health, watering, and harvesting.
- Ensuring workspace cleanliness and organization.
- Maintain accurate records of plant inventory and growth cycles.
- Communicate plant status and document decisions in relevant data systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to derive insights and enhance processes.
- Follow established protocols and contribute to the development of new standard operating procedures.
- Manage workload effectively to meet daily objectives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in horticulture, plant science, agronomy, biology, or a related field.
- Experience working in greenhouse environments, including familiarity with control systems and pest management.
- Proven horticultural skills in a professional or research setting.
- Ability to maintain accurate scientific records.
- Knowledge of laboratory and greenhouse safety practices.
- Capacity to work collaboratively and independently in a research environment.
