About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Apple Maps Infrastructure team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and efficient cloud infrastructure services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions to support business operations and optimize infrastructure efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering, security, and SRE teams to ensure the secure and efficient operation of services.
  • Drive optimization opportunities in a hybrid cloud environment.
  • Develop and maintain core infrastructure services, including LDAP, Puppet, and repositories.
  • Work on capacity planning, configuration management, optimization, and monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with security and networking standards.
  • Develop and maintain container services, system administration, and CI/CD systems.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure focused role.
  • Experience supporting internet-facing production services and distributed systems.
  • Experience in managing core infrastructure services, including LDAP, Puppet, and repositories.
  • Experience in Linux software build and packaging systems, preferably RPMs.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure concepts and experience in a Hybrid cloud environment.
  • Proficient in Golang, Ruby, Python, or other scripting languages.
  • Container services (Docker/Kubernetes), system administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of CI/CD systems and process.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge in or interest to work on configuration management tools like Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
  • Experience with core infrastructure services, including LDAP, DNS, Puppet, and repositories.
  • A strong sense of ownership and teamwork.
  • Vulnerability management in a hybrid cloud environment.
  • Datacenter Optimization initiatives.
