Job Description

As a Revenue Cycle Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in the assessment, design, and development of corporate-wide clinical/revenue cycle systems. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and directing the collection and transformation of large quantities of information into meaningful business requirements;
  • Developing and modifying requirements documentation for the design and implementation of clinical/revenue cycle information systems;
  • Critically evaluating information from various sources, distinguishing user needs from actual business needs, and partnering with business users, project managers, programmers, consultants, and IT leadership to optimize the scope, benefits, and risks of actual and proposed projects;
  • Assisting in managing stakeholder expectations;
  • Reviewing and documenting business requirements and processes, communicating requirements to technical personnel through the construction of basic conceptual data, process models, and flowcharts, and technical specifications;
  • Developing status reports for submission to leadership;
  • Providing technical and analytic knowledge for the development of the Revenue Cycle System;
  • Monitoring and resolving system-related issues reported by end users, requiring daily usage of the ESD Service Now application;
  • Interviewing end users, stakeholders, and project sponsors to assess business needs, creating business, functional, and technical requirements documents based on captured data and in accordance with departmental protocol/standards;
  • Defining external interfaces, constraints, quality issues, and other non-functional requirements;
  • Ensuring that all quality standards comply with internal policies and industry standards;
  • Documenting changes to baseline requirements through standard change control process;
  • Documenting software test plans, technical requirements, release notes, user, and training guidelines, and other materials;
  • Coordinating and supporting unit acceptance testing and subsequent deployments in coordination with other team leaders;
  • Performing end-user and application support functions, including problem-solving and resolution of application function defects;
  • Participating and leading in special projects as required;
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and providing analysis and proposing change and communicating strategies;
  • Creating statistical reporting based on end-user needs within the Epic Hospital Billing module;
  • Ability to complete demonstrations, develop effective presentations, deliver in a professional manner, and mentor lower-level analysts for success;
  • Proficiency in assigned application must be obtained within 6 months of hire, and all continuing education must be passed to retain employment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree or advanced clinical degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience gathering and documenting business, clinical, and/or functional requirements using interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, scenarios, business analysis, task, and workflow analysis or related in a clinical, allied health, non-allied health, behavioral health, information technology, information services, business, analytics, or related area;
  • One (1) year of experience in a relevant clinical and/or healthcare administration role/function;
  • A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience;
  • Specialty certification(s) issued by a national commercially available program, state, professional society, academic, or technical institution in an area(s) listed above, may be credited on a month-to-month basis toward the required work experience for a total of one (1) year.
Preferred Qualifications

We prefer candidates with:

  • Healthcare operations experience;
  • At least 1 full life-cycle implementation experience;
  • Experience in healthcare and/or revenue cycle;
  • Microsoft Office application knowledge;
  • General Office equipment knowledge;
  • 2+ years minimum experience with Epic EMR.
