About the Role

As a key member of the AdventHealth Corporate team, the Divisional Chief Legal Officer will play a critical role in providing strategic legal guidance to support the organization's mission and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of health care and legal issues, including local, state, and federal statutes, Stark Law, Anti-kickback statute, and implementing regulations.
  • Advise CEOs, executive management, compliance department, and medical staff leadership on various health care and legal matters, including provider employment issues, physician practice issues, professional service agreements, affiliation agreements, due diligence, HIPAA, peer review, medical staff issues, licensing, informed consent, and various types of leases.
  • Participate in supervising legal support staff, paralegals, and contract managers, and adhere to the Rules of Professional Conduct of the Florida Bar and other state bar associations.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited law school and a four-year accredited university.
  • 5-15 years of health law practice experience, preferably in a law firm or relevant governmental experience.
  • Member of the Florida Bar Association or Authorized House Counsel in the State of Florida.
  • Board certified in health law or board eligible.
