Maintenance Technician Job Description

At KMG Hotels, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotels by performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and providing excellent customer service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to Guest Requests: Attend to guest repair requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate with guests and colleagues to resolve maintenance issues and provide excellent customer service.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and ensure the overall cleanliness and safety of our hotels.
  • Troubleshoot Equipment Issues: Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain Inventory: Maintain accurate inventory records and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Communicate with Colleagues: Communicate daily activities and problems with colleagues using approved communication programs and standards.
  • Display Knowledge and Skills: Display basic knowledge and skills in areas such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Perform Repairs and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on a variety of equipment, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Use Lockout/Tagout System: Use the Lockout/Tagout system to ensure safe maintenance practices.
  • Perform Landscaping and Sprinkler Repairs: Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping, as well as external landscaping sprinklers.
  • Display Basic Computer Skills: Display basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes.
  • Follow Company Policies: Follow all company and safety policies and procedures, including reporting maintenance problems and safety hazards.
