Maintenance Technician Job Description

KMG Hotels is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel facilities, including guest rooms, common areas, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guest Room Maintenance: Respond to and resolve guest repair requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with guests and colleagues to resolve maintenance issues and provide excellent customer service.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and ensure the overall efficiency of our facilities.
  • Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, maintain, and repair tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
  • Technical Skills: Demonstrate basic knowledge and skills in areas such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance on a variety of equipment, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Housekeeping and Engineering: Perform general housekeeping and engineering-related tasks, including cleaning and maintaining public areas.
  • Lockout/Tagout: Use the Lockout/Tagout system to ensure safe maintenance practices.
  • Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance on exterior landscaping and sprinkler systems.
  • Computer Skills: Demonstrate basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes.
  • Confidentiality and Security: Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
  • Guest Service: Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guest service needs, and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Quality and Safety: Adhere to quality expectations and standards, and follow all company and safety policies and procedures.
