The Senior Underwriter role within Baker Tilly Capital, LLC's Development Community Advisory - Capital Formation (DCA) team presents an excellent opportunity to be part of a growing team within our FINRA Broker-Dealer, acting as a trusted business advisor delivering industry-focused financial services to energy and infrastructure clients.

As the energy sector undergoes a significant transition towards clean energy and decarbonization, you will assist clients in developing and financing critical energy infrastructure projects.

What You Will Do
- Immerse yourself in the Energy sector, gaining insights into the companies, technologies, and systems that provide energy resources.
- Customize comprehensive financial models tailored to specific deal structures, incorporating various technologies, tax credit programs, government incentives, and alternative financing options.
- Assist in securing financing and equity sources for transactions, negotiating financing agreements with these sources.
- Support acquisition, preservation, disposition, and recapitalization strategies for energy asset portfolio owners.
- Engage in transactions involving federal tax, preparing relevant application materials, and structuring the monetization of credits to maximize client value.
- Contribute to the development of presentations, respond to requests for proposals, create pitch books, and draft proposals for the team.
- Conduct research on industry topics and technical issues, compile data, and present findings.
- Assist in energy and infrastructure-focused analysis for thought leadership initiatives.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or an energy-related field is required; an MBA is a plus.
- Experience in modeling partnership allocations (preferably within renewable energy) and/or underwriting bank debt, energy project finance, and funding sources such as the Production Tax Credit and Investment Tax Credit is essential.
- Understanding of structured finance concepts, distributed energy project financials, and operating performance metrics.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
- A sense of urgency and commitment to timely project completion.
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
- Ability to provide exceptional client service and a commitment to continuous learning to stay updated on the Energy industry and applicable finance strategies.
- Willingness to work extended hours as needed and the ability to travel, including overnight trips as necessary.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
