Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Associate to join our team at Tancell Care. As a Behavioral Health Associate, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Southern and Northern Nevada. Your primary responsibility will be to provide high-quality care and support to our participants, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals in learning basic living skills, adapting to the community environment, and establishing supportive relationships within the community.
  • Provide personal care, home management, and meal planning, shopping, and health maintenance support.
  • Engage participants in activities and interactions designed to encourage achievement of treatment goals.
  • Promote participant-focused strategies to address diverse areas such as social skills, coping skills, anger management, and skills for independent living.
  • Document client records timely, accurately, and appropriately.
  • Apply de-escalation techniques to help manage participant's emotions, behavior, and participation.
  • Maintain awareness of participants' needs and individual goals while motivating them towards activities that are beneficial.
  • Provide transportation for participants or coordinate transportation with appropriate staff members, as required.
  • Maintain Habilitation Plans and Data Trackers to satisfy all reporting requirements.
Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Six months or more relevant experience working with this population preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation to transport individuals as needed.
  • Willingness to work a flexible, non-traditional schedule.
  • Experience with Positive Behavioral Support, behavior management, and training programs.
  • A strong desire to enrich lives and the ability to train and foster skills development with participants.
