We are seeking a skilled Clinical Therapist to join our team at Sound Community Services, Inc.
Job SummaryThe Clinical Therapist will provide individual and group therapy to adults with severe mental illness, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders in a community-based outpatient clinic setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual, group, and family therapy to an assigned caseload, meeting agency-established productivity goals.
- Complete intake assessments, treatment plan reviews, and discharge summaries as directed by the Director of Outpatient Services.
- Conduct crisis assessments and provide linkage with community resources, such as social, residential, and rehabilitation services.
- Document all client contacts in the client's electronic medical record and complete all documentation in accordance with the agency's Quality Assurance standards.
- Provide mentorship to students and employees seeking clinical licensure and actively participate in supervision, multi-disciplinary team meetings, and agency committees.
- Connecticut Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) required.
- Experience providing assessments, individual and group therapy, discharge planning, and referral services to adults with severe mental illness, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders.
- Must be billable for services provided to clients with Medicare and private insurance coverage.
- CPR/First Aid Certified or eligible.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
- Regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and climb stairs.
- Regularly required to walk, talk, and/or hear.
- Speaking and hearing ability should be sufficient to communicate effectively by phone or in person at normal volumes.
- Vision adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include the ability to adjust focus.
- Occasionally required to stand and climb or balance.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
