About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Machine Learning and NLP Scientist Intern to join our team at Thomson Reuters Labs in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a key member of our global team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge Machine Learning and NLP techniques to drive business growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experiment and Develop: You will be involved in the entire model development lifecycle, building, testing, and delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Collaborate: You will work on a collaborative cross-functional team, learning from and partnering with colleagues across the globe.
  • Innovate: You will have the opportunity to try new approaches and learn new technologies, contributing ideas and solving real-world challenges.

About You:

  • Be currently enrolled in a PhD program in a relevant discipline or have a Master's degree with research experience.
  • Have an understanding and experience with Natural Language Processing and/or Machine Learning methods, including Large Language Models.
  • Have experience creating and evaluating experiments related to Machine Learning or Large Language Models.
  • Be experienced in one or more programming languages (preferably Python) and have experience working in the Cloud (preferably AWS).
  • Have experience with ML/NLP libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, spaCy, LangChain, and HuggingFace.
  • Be comfortable working with unstructured datasets and knowledgeable about tools and techniques for data cleaning and processing.
  • Have good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
