Job Overview

The Service Technician Trainee is a key member of our Service Department, responsible for performing a range of HVACR servicing jobs for residential and light commercial customers. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in the HVACR industry, with a focus on customer satisfaction and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the performance of HVACR service jobs, including changing filters, performing power and handwashing, and assisting senior technicians.
  • Conduct seasonal maintenance checks, measure and thread pipe, operate test equipment, solder and braze, and install power and control wiring.
  • Work collaboratively with the Service Manager, Dispatchers, and Parts Runners to ensure efficient and timely completion of service jobs.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of HVACR systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning principles.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent, and enrolled in or a graduate of a post-secondary formal HVACR program of instruction.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to read and apply manufacturers' instructions.
  • Physical ability to perform all duties, including lifting and carrying heavy loads, working at heights, and operating company vehicles.
  • Interest and initiative to develop HVACR skills through formal schooling, company training, self-study, and other professional development activities.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with a non-standard schedule, and in a fast-paced environment.
