We are in search of a Project Engineer to contribute to multi-disciplinary design initiatives on a full-time basis. This role offers the chance to oversee various public and private site development projects while collaborating with numerous municipal clients across different sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee multiple projects and tasks, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets for successful project completion. Conduct regular meetings with clients to discuss project progress. Prepare proposals for both new and existing clients, including project fee estimations. Supervise the creation of Land Development Plans, which includes engineering design drawings, technical specifications, and reports from initial design through to construction. Facilitate the permitting process through regulatory agencies for large-scale, complex projects. Assign tasks to Junior Engineers and Drafters, providing mentorship in developing Stormwater Management strategies, Utility Coordination, and Erosion & Sediment Control Design. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in engineering, preferably with a focus on land development design projects. Professional Engineer (PE) license in NJ, or the ability to obtain it within six months of employment.Preferred Qualifications:
Additional certifications such as Certified Municipal Engineer (CME), Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), or Professional Planner (PP) are advantageous. Experience in management or project management, with a proven track record of overseeing multi-disciplinary projects. Advanced skills in site design functions, including site layout, grading, utility design, stormwater management, and municipal regulatory approvals. Familiarity with stormwater management, particularly using Hydrology and Hydraulics modeling tools. Proficiency in engineering software tools, including CADD and project management applications; experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is beneficial. Competence in standard office software applications such as Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat; experience with Bluebeam Revu is a plus. Ability to understand the overall project goals while coordinating various design disciplines effectively. Demonstrated punctuality and consistent attendance. Proven capability to thrive in a dynamic team environment while also working independently. Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in addressing challenges across diverse projects.
