Position Overview
This role operates under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, delivering essential care to patients and assisting the healthcare team. Responsibilities encompass basic medical treatments, personal care services, and maintaining a tidy and safe environment for patients. The individual will provide information, guidance, and support to physicians, patients, families, and other stakeholders. Additionally, the role involves communicating patient requirements to the nursing staff to ensure a secure atmosphere. Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Essential Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a current high school diploma or equivalent, or be able to obtain one within a year of employment. Candidates should hold a valid Indiana Certified Nurse Aide certification or Home Health Aide certification, or have completed a formal nursing assistant program with relevant experience. Alternatively, candidates may have six months of recent hospital experience in direct patient care or be currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program, having completed their Nursing Fundamentals coursework (transcripts required). CPR certification is also required or must be obtained in the next available class upon hiring.

Work Environment
This position is situated in a typical hospital clinical setting, requiring frequent standing and walking. The role may involve interruptions and high-stress situations, with potential exposure to blood, infectious materials, electrical, and radiation hazards. The individual will work closely with patients and visitors and must be available to work various shifts, including extended hours, holidays, and weekends as needed.

Physical and Mental Demands
The role involves standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling to provide patient care and operate necessary equipment safely. The individual must be capable of handling emotionally charged and stressful situations effectively.
