Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Environment Technician to join our team at Microsoft Corporation. As a Critical Environment Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the critical infrastructure that keeps our datacenters up and running.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine monitoring and inspection of critical environment-related facility equipment, including controls, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), and mechanical systems.
  • Perform various types of maintenance and repairs for specific disciplines and equipment, following established methods of procedure (MOPs), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and digital methods of operating procedures (DMOPs).
  • Respond to and stabilize abnormal conditions within the required timeframes for various abnormal facility events within the data center.
  • Develop and implement emergency operating procedures (EOPs), methods of procedure (MOPs), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and digital methods of operating procedures (DMOPs) for incidents.
  • Collaborate with senior colleagues to develop and implement procedures for equipment and system maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent AND work/applied learning experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including shift assignments during non-standard business hours that may include evening, nighttime, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or technical trade certification in a related field.
  • 3+ years of technical services experience in a high-availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environment.
