About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Infrastructure Engineer Linux OS to join our agile product team at Raytheon Technologies. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and architecting Linux-based infrastructure solutions, with a focus on emerging DevOps/DevSecOps and Service Mesh technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leverage company and industry best practices to develop and communicate infrastructure solutions
  • Maintain existing systems through Linux-based tools and manage the COTS stack on the system to support program needs
  • Assist in training junior engineers to support program operations
  • Integrate selected platform provisioning tools, such as VMware
  • Ensure proper allocation and maintenance of compute, network, and storage resources in the equipment room (lab)
  • Ensure consistency of the COTS stack and versioning across the platform
  • Travel to customer sites for system updates and deliveries as needed

Requirements

  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI/CI Poly security clearance is required prior to start date
  • Typically requires a BS/BA degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or Physics, and 8+ years of related work experience
  • Experience with Agile Development Methodologies, Linux/RHEL V6+ administration, and troubleshooting applications and infrastructure on Linux-based operating systems
  • Experience with programming languages, such as Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, and Go

Preferred Qualifications

  • Administrative fluency with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and VMware solutions
  • Experience with Linux LDAP for creating Linux-based accounts and managing roles and permissions
  • Experience with Linux Bash scripting for task automation and management of existing scripts
  • Experience with TCSH, Generation and Management of RPM Packages, and Notional experience with Windows and Windows Server OS
  • HW configuration and management experience, General/Notional experience in Networks, SAN/NAS designs and implementation, Ansible Automation, and yaml file structure
