Job Title: Public Health Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. As a Public Health LPN, you will play a vital role in providing direct nursing care and assisting public health nurses and county programs.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Administer immunizations to patients of all ages, following established guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform annual school and daycare immunization audits, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Complete quarterly reports, providing valuable insights into public health trends.
  • Assist with annual scoliosis screenings, promoting health and wellness in our community.
  • Participate in health fairs and educational programs, educating the public on important health topics.
  • Perform TB screenings and administer PPD skin tests, identifying potential health risks.
  • Prepare for and respond to public health emergencies, demonstrating your ability to adapt in high-pressure situations.
  • Utilize computer technology to collect, store, and retrieve data, ensuring accurate and efficient record-keeping.
  • Participate in program planning, contributing your expertise to develop effective public health initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse populations, using proper terminology and cultural sensitivity.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Engage in ongoing learning and professional development, staying up-to-date on the latest public health trends and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college.
  • Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • CPR certification.
  • Completion of all necessary orientation and training for Public Health LPN.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Public health experience.
  • Experience with screenings, immunizations, GRITS, and patient interviewing.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English speaking language.
