We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. As a Public Health LPN, you will play a vital role in providing direct nursing care and assisting public health nurses and county programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer immunizations to patients of all ages, following established guidelines and procedures.
  • Perform annual school and daycare immunization audits, complete quarterly reports, and assist with annual scoliosis screenings.
  • Participate in health fairs and educational programs, perform TB screenings, and administer PPD skin tests in clinic and outreach events.
  • Prepare to respond to public health emergencies and respond as directed.
  • Use computer technology to collect, store, and retrieve data, and participate in program planning.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse populations, using proper terminology and cultural proficiency.
Requirements:
  • Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college.
  • Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • CPR certification.
  • Completion of all necessary orientation and training for Public Health LPN.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Public Health experience.
  • Experience with screenings, immunizations, GRITS, and interviewing patients.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English speaking language.
