  • Exhibit exceptional customer service skills, including telephone and personal contact with all CHRISTUS Transfer Center groups.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
  • Maintain a patient-centered mentality at all times.
  • Anticipate and prioritize critical transfer issues.
  • Escalate concerns/barriers that require administrative judgment based on hospital policies and procedures.
  • Accept new assignments and perform additional duties as requested in a professional manner.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure appropriate and efficient transfer.
  • Maintain timely knowledge of all current and future transfer requests.
  • Collaborate with CHRISTUS hospital's ED, House Supervisors, Administrators, and physicians to ensure appropriate and timely transfer.
  • Work closely and proactively with House supervisors to understand daily capacity, availability, and patient flow.
  • Remain proficient in EMTALA.
  • Utilize ability to organize and prioritize multiple complex tasks.
  • Utilize ability to problem solve and make decisions quickly.
  • Maintain proficiency in computer systems and databases for the purpose of excellent patient care, accurate data collection, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Respond to all callers with the aid of computer systems and databases.
  • Proficient in using the transfer center software.
  • Knowledgeable in Meditech.
  • Attend team meetings, in-services, and trainings to maintain up-to-date knowledge of software systems and new processes.
  • Establish and maintain a high degree of awareness and knowledge of hospital's medical staff, services, and special programs.
  • Communicate with House Supervisors at the hospital to access bed availability and changes in service availability, each shift.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain standard call lists.
  • Regularly update service availability and contact information.
  • Stay up to date on new physician/service changes by reading emails and attending team meetings.
