Key Responsibilities:
The ECMO Registered Nurse Specialist will:
- Deliver expert nursing care to critically ill patients requiring ECMO support.
- Operate independently under established ECMO protocols while collaborating with the ECMO Physician and Advanced Practice Provider.
- Ensure the optimal performance of the ECMO circuit and participate in multidisciplinary team efforts.
- Engage in research, education, and mentorship as part of the ECMO program's growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is mandatory.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in ECMO management within a critical care environment.
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification is essential.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cardiac Surgery Certification (CSC) and Certified ECMO Specialist - Adult (CES-A) certification are advantageous.
