Position Overview

SUMMARY:

The Program Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role in managing the daily functions of Program Services. This individual is tasked with overseeing the assigned case management team, facilitating educational initiatives, and coordinating training sessions for staff. Additionally, the supervisor will engage with volunteers and community partners, implement performance enhancement strategies, and take on risk management responsibilities. A comprehensive understanding of trauma-informed care and Housing First methodologies is essential for success in this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the daily operations of Program Services, ensuring tasks are completed with professionalism, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Assist in the management of the Program Services budget, monitoring expenditures, and preparing necessary reports in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Coordinate the activities of Program Services personnel; guide the case management team; conduct orientation for new staff and volunteers; perform staff evaluations in alignment with organizational policies.
  • Strategically plan to maximize productivity and efficiency; adapt personal schedules to meet departmental needs; oversee volunteer activities for special events.
  • Design and implement educational programs and training for staff; maintain a calendar of events; conduct satisfaction surveys, analyze feedback, and prepare monthly performance reports.
  • Ensure the integration of trauma-informed practices within the program, providing training and support to staff to uphold these standards.
  • Apply Housing First principles in service delivery, ensuring clients receive the necessary support for stable and permanent housing solutions.
  • Undertake additional tasks as required to support the organization's mission.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:

  • Directly supervises a team of approximately 6-8 employees across multiple centers.
  • Responsible for executing supervisory duties in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
  • Includes responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, training staff, assigning tasks, evaluating performance, and addressing employee concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in social services, human services, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. CAP certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in social services or human services, particularly with homeless populations; four (4) years of experience may substitute for educational requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of trauma-informed care and Housing First principles is critical.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of social services, counseling, and behavioral sciences.
  • Awareness of the challenges faced by residents.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Professional demeanor with flexibility, respect, and composure.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Leadership skills to guide and mentor staff within the Program Services department.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Solid management skills in social services.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish and/or English and Creole is preferred.
