We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Career Coach to join our team at WorkSource Montgomery Inc. As a Career Coach, you will play a vital role in guiding middle and high school students in discovering their skills, interests, and values, and connecting them with potential career paths.
Key Responsibilities- Work directly with students on MCPS campuses, providing career awareness and exploration services.
- Assist educators and administrators in integrating career education into core instruction.
- Provide RIASEC and other strengths-based assessments to help students understand their career potential.
- Employ a dialogic model of instruction to facilitate student learning and career exploration.
- Coordinate with industry partners to provide experiential learning opportunities for students.
- Assist students in becoming College, Career, and Community Ready, as defined by MCPS.
- Supply information to students regarding MCPS programs and initiatives that support career exploration.
- Refer students to MCPS personnel to complete their progression to CCCR readiness.
- Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with WSM staff and partners.
- Ensure that WSM Career Coaching services are delivered in a culturally competent and equitable manner.
- Represent WSM at staff and public/community meetings.
- Communicate with families and stakeholders regarding CCCR readiness.
- Document student progress.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or related experience.
- At least two years of relevant experience in workforce development, education, non-profit, or human services.
- Preferred Career Education experience in a public K-12 setting.
- Candidates with special education experience in grades 6-12 are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Bilingual is a plus.
