Purchasing Buyer Job Description

The Purchasing Buyer will play a crucial role in supporting the global supply chain needs of Alchemee, driving the Proactiv brand forward. This position is responsible for maintaining purchase orders (POs) for packaging suppliers and contract manufacturers, ensuring seamless execution of supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and manage POs in SAP for finished goods and packaging materials, adhering to supply agreements with suppliers.
  • Confirm receipt of POs with suppliers via EDI portal or email documentation, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Maintain POs based on current status of delivery dates and quantities from updates from CMOs and packaging suppliers.
  • Communicate and resolve any PO-related issues, such as late delivery or minimum order quantities (MOQs), with the planning team and CMO Manager.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve PO receipt issues, including over, short, or damaged goods.
  • Maintain master data for all inventory purchased items, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information.
  • Transact weekly consumption of packaging materials into SAP, performing monthly inventory reconciliations with CMOs to maintain alignment between systems.
  • Assist the Inventory Analyst in resolving inventory discrepancies caused by EDI, ASN, receiving, or other reasons.
  • Participate in pertinent meetings, such as weekly update meetings with CMOs and internal cross-functional meetings.
  • Complete all company-assigned trainings and perform other duties as assigned by the CMO Manager or Director of Supply Chain.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of demonstrated procurement buying experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail, project management skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • SAP experience strongly preferred, along with supplier management and process improvement skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently or within a team.
  • Very good system and software skills, including intermediate Excel skills, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
