We are seeking a highly skilled Sheetmetal Technician Senior to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely laying out, fabricating, and installing parts, equipment, and fabricated items on aircraft.
Key Responsibilities- Use complex schematics, blueprints, and technical instructions to perform sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation tasks.
- Mentor and train junior technicians, ensuring their work meets quality control standards.
- Oversee projects and assess requirements to procure necessary materials and documentation.
- Operate shop equipment, such as brakes, presses, and riveting equipment, to shape and form complex angles and configurations.
- Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, using personal protective equipment as required.
- Conduct monthly 5S audits and use the material tracking system to create parts demand and track squawks.
- Assist in developing initiatives to meet individual OGSM requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of sheetmetal or fabrication processes, including forming, drilling, stamping, shaping, bending, punching, cutting, riveting, filing, and dimpling.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
- Valid driver's license to operate towing and other Gulfstream transportation equipment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to adapt to sudden schedule changes and work any shift.
- Good working knowledge of computers and experience working with Microsoft Office suite.
