Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead our team in San Francisco. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for managing operations, execution, and expectations for the Mechanical Engineering Discipline. This is an excellent opportunity to work on sustainable and high-performance building design projects, collaborating with a talented team of engineers and industry experts.
Key Responsibilities- Project team leadership and discipline project management, ensuring timely completion within budget.
- Preparation of deliverable documents, including narratives, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Attend client meetings, lead coordination efforts between external and internal project teams.
- Independently evaluate and apply engineering judgment, techniques, and procedures to complete projects from concepts through construction.
- Utilize proficiency in mechanical system design, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Energy Modeling.
- Assemble effective project teams, inspire, and motivate staff.
- Oversee engineering calculations and equipment selection.
- Perform site visits and issue reports.
- Provide training, guidance, and development for staff.
- Write specifications, provide updates to master specifications and standards, and improve company processes.
- Develop client relationships.
- Participate on firm leadership committees.
- Oversee the application of the project quality management plan (QMP).
- May be responsible as the Engineer of Record (EOR).
- Serve as a technical resource for the company.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering for discipline work.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred.
- LEED accreditation preferred.
- 5-10 years' work experience in the AEC/built environment space.
- Thorough understanding of interdisciplinary coordination.
- Advanced understanding of the application of building codes and mechanical industry standards.
- Advanced understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, able to effectively communicate design options.
- Able to assemble and run a team.
- Strong delegation skills.
- Attention to detail and advanced organizational skills.
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite.
