Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead our team in San Francisco. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for managing operations, execution, and expectations for the Mechanical Engineering Discipline. This is an excellent opportunity to work on sustainable and high-performance building design projects, collaborating with a talented team of engineers and industry experts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project team leadership and discipline project management, ensuring timely completion within budget.
  • Preparation of deliverable documents, including narratives, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Attend client meetings, lead coordination efforts between external and internal project teams.
  • Independently evaluate and apply engineering judgment, techniques, and procedures to complete projects from concepts through construction.
  • Utilize proficiency in mechanical system design, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Energy Modeling.
  • Assemble effective project teams, inspire, and motivate staff.
  • Oversee engineering calculations and equipment selection.
  • Perform site visits and issue reports.
  • Provide training, guidance, and development for staff.
  • Write specifications, provide updates to master specifications and standards, and improve company processes.
  • Develop client relationships.
  • Participate on firm leadership committees.
  • Oversee the application of the project quality management plan (QMP).
  • May be responsible as the Engineer of Record (EOR).
  • Serve as a technical resource for the company.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering for discipline work.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • 5-10 years' work experience in the AEC/built environment space.
  • Thorough understanding of interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Advanced understanding of the application of building codes and mechanical industry standards.
  • Advanced understanding of mechanical engineering concepts, able to effectively communicate design options.
  • Able to assemble and run a team.
  • Strong delegation skills.
  • Attention to detail and advanced organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite.
