Adventist Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in Portland, Oregon.
Job Summary:As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for operating x-ray equipment to produce high-quality radiographs of designated body parts as ordered by physicians. You will position and instruct patients prior to examination, adjust the x-ray equipment, and determine the proper voltage, current, and exposure time for each radiograph.
Responsibilities:- Perform screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation, explaining procedures to patients and answering their questions.
- Prepare equipment for use as needed, prepare examination rooms for patient exams, and position patients for imaging exams.
- Monitor patients and ensure their safety during exams, produce diagnostic images, and document exam information.
- Report important information to physicians and verify exams on PACS.
- Administer targeted doses of radiation to patients' bodies to treat cancer or other diseases, administer trace amounts of radiopharmaceuticals to patients to obtain functional information about organs, tissues, and bone, and measure bone mineral density at specific anatomical sites.
- Associate's Degree in radiological technology is preferred.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiography (ARRT-R) certification is required.
- Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) Radiologic Technologist License is required in Oregon.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS certification is required.
- Fluoroscopy license in the state of employment is preferred.
