Job Title: Certified Medication Aid

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medication Aid to join our team at Willamette View. As a Medication Aid, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and providing exceptional care.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer prescribed medications using approved methods, including oral, topical, and inhalants.
  • Obtain vital signs and report any abnormalities.
  • Document medication administration and vital signs in residents' electronic charts and eMAR.
  • Calibrate capillary blood glucose (CBG) machines and obtain and document CBG readings.
  • Perform and document a narcotic count at the beginning and end of each shift, reporting any discrepancies.
  • Ensure timely medication orders and step up with leadership duties when needed in the absence of the Charge Nurse.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three years of experience as a Certified Medication Assistant (CMA) or a Resident Assistant/Caregiver or CNA, especially in Assisted Living, Residential Care Facility, or Long-Term Care settings.
  • Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and a Food Handler's Card.
  • Attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and document appropriately.
  • Ability to prioritize multi-demands using initiative, good judgment, and a professional attitude.
