Position Summary

The Electronics Assembly Technician is responsible for the manual placement of components on circuit boards, adhering to established workmanship standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Follow comprehensive verbal or written instructions, utilizing visual aids as necessary.
  2. Conduct basic, standardized, and repetitive electronic assembly tasks, including the labeling of components and assemblies.
  3. Prepare and manually assemble components according to visual specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  4. Perform visual inspections to verify proper insertion and placement of parts.
  5. Utilize bar code scanners and small hand tools effectively.
  6. Ensure proper handling and marking of assemblies and components.
  7. Maintain accurate progress reports and monitor parts inventory, restocking as needed.
  8. Work under the close supervision of the Manufacturing Supervisor or designated management personnel.
  9. Uphold 5S principles to maintain order and cleanliness in the work area.
  10. Adhere to all safety and health regulations as outlined by the supervisor.
  11. Comply with company security policies and procedures.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to inquiries from various stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Proficient in operating a personal computer, including familiarity with Windows-based systems and relevant software.
  • Advanced PC skills, including knowledge of Jabil's software packages.
  • Ability to write basic correspondence and comprehend visual aids.
  • Capability to follow simple instructions and apply common sense in standardized situations.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measure.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, as well as interpret graphs.
