Key Responsibilities

The Surgical Technician III will demonstrate extensive expertise in various surgical instruments and advanced equipment across multiple specialties. This role includes the development and presentation of educational topics relevant to the surgical unit, acting as a liaison to Instrument Technicians, and ensuring that all surgical tools are properly maintained and sanitized.

  • Exhibits comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in the first scrub role during surgical procedures.
  • Understands and manages supply expenses while collaborating with the surgical team to maintain high standards of care.


  • Ensures the availability of appropriate surgical instruments and supplies for each operation.


  • Facilitates communication with Biomedical Services regarding equipment that requires maintenance or repair.
  • Provides training to staff on the proper handling and care of surgical instruments and equipment.
Qualifications

Essential Requirements:
*High School Diploma or GED
*Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CST/CSFA)
*Three (3) years of relevant experience
*Ability to work in at least three different surgical specialties.
