Job Summary

Under the direction of a registered nurse, the Obstetric Technician performs various routine duties within the obstetric department, including maintaining a clean environment, organizing equipment, and assisting with operative and delivery room procedures. The successful candidate will provide basic care, comfort, and safety to patients, as well as provide clerical support to the Labor and Delivery Leadership and Charge Nurses.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical support to the Labor and Delivery Leadership and Charge Nurses
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Surgical Tech or OB Tech, a high school diploma or equivalent, and one of the following: a graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program, a graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Surgical Technologist Program, or a CNA or LPN. Knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is required. Additionally, the candidate must have one of the following: State of Wisconsin licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse, State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification, or completion of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program or Surgical Technologist Program. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
