Job Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems and components within the company's manufacturing process. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical principles and the ability to apply them to enhance product quality, reliability, and performance.

The Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all mechanical designs meet both internal and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:Design and Development:
  • Create detailed mechanical designs, including 3D models and engineering drawings, for components, assemblies, and systems.
  • Ensure that designs meet functional requirements and are optimized for manufacturability, cost, and performance.
Prototyping and Testing:
  • Develop and evaluate prototypes to validate designs.
  • Conduct tests to ensure mechanical systems and components perform as expected, analyzing test results and implementing necessary design modifications.
Project Management:
  • Manage multiple mechanical engineering projects from concept through production, ensuring that timelines and budgets are met.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful project execution.
Documentation:
  • Generate and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including design specifications, technical reports, and test procedures.
  • Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and complies with company standards.
Manufacturing Support:
  • Provide technical support to the manufacturing team during product assembly and testing.
  • Work with production staff to troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
Quality Assurance:
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that mechanical designs meet all applicable industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues.
Supplier Coordination:
  • Identify and qualify suppliers for mechanical components and systems.
  • Review and approve supplier drawings and specifications to ensure they meet the required standards.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce costs, and improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in mechanical engineering to apply best practices.
Job Requirements:Education:
  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent practical education and experience.
Experience:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within a manufacturing or product development environment.
Skills:
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and experience with FEA analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
