Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Practice Coordinator to join our team at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. As a Practice Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, and staff, while ensuring the smooth operation of our front desk and scheduling processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide appointment scheduling and coordination for patients, including complex scheduling activities associated with patients arriving from main campus, other centers, or outside entities.
  • Manage all incoming referrals, provide appointment setting, and coordinate medical records.
  • Ensure the completion of prior authorizations for radiology testing and authorizations for outside ancillary services.
  • Provide general administrative support and coordination for all aspects of patient care, including filing, document preparation, data entry, and telephone support.
  • Manage In Basket messages, take ownership, and respond appropriately to all messages.
  • Carry out specific processes in the patient scheduling systems to ensure correct special billing and revenue processes function properly.
Requirements
  • Associates degree; 3 years of equivalent experience may substitute for degree. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 year experience working in a medical or customer service setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent computer, customer service, and problem-solving skills required.
