Position Overview

Role Summary
The Mental Health Association is seeking a dedicated professional to provide forensic clinical services to individuals within the criminal justice system. This role requires a strong background in psychotherapy and a commitment to working in challenging environments.

Essential Qualifications
Applicants must possess a Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling, along with a current LCSW or LPC certification. Previous experience in delivering psychotherapy is essential, coupled with a genuine interest in forensic mental health services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver individual counseling sessions for adults engaged with the criminal justice system.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations to assess mental health needs and determine appropriate clinical diagnoses.
  • Evaluate eligibility for the Morris County Prosecutors Mental Health Diversion Program based on clinical assessments.
  • Perform intake assessments and screenings for new clients.
  • Complete mental health evaluations within the county jail setting.
  • Facilitate connections to community resources and referrals as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director and Forensic Case Managers to coordinate treatment plans.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive treatment plans in partnership with clients.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping in compliance with funding requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Meet productivity expectations related to direct service delivery. Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by management.
