We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Standex Electronics. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating design specifications for a variety of components, including coil, transformer, and inductor design.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Create new designs, including concept, design, and development of mechanical and electrical components.
- Manufacturability and Cost Optimization: Translate customer specifications into cost-efficient manufacturable assemblies.
- Sustainment and Adaptation: Support the sustainment of existing designs by providing ongoing design support post-launch and adapt existing designs to meet new customer requirements and applications.
- Prototyping and Testing: Coordinate prototyping with internal and external partners to deliver products to customer expectations and establish test requirements to verify product conformance to specifications.
- Documentation and Communication: Create and process ECNs/ECOs, review and prepare drawings, and establish product standards and specifications.
- Collaboration and Technical Interface: Communicate with internal and external customers to provide technical information, engineering recommendations, and action plans, and identify and evaluate risks.
- Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in a Mechanical Engineering program accredited by ABET or direct experience and qualifications in lieu of a degree.
- Experience: 3+ years of engineering experience required.
- Skills: Knowledge of coil, transformer, and inductor design, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability, as well as 2D/3D modeling software, finite element analysis, and simulation software.
