Job Summary: Generac Power Systems, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team in the Portable Product Design department. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work closely with our experienced engineers to design and develop new products, including generators and power tools. Your responsibilities will include creating 2D and 3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, and service. You will also create Pro-E models, drawings, and templates, as well as make changes to Bills of Materials. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative company.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design, validate, and bring new products to market
* Provide new product development support in the Industrial, Commercial, Residential, and/or Retail generator or Power Tool product area
* Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, and BOMs
* Support product development plans (schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs)
* Interface with internal company personnel
* Provide technical support for assigned projects

Requirements:

* Currently pursuing a BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering
* Understanding or working knowledge of Pro-E and/or AutoCAD experience
* Microsoft Office experience (including Excel)
* Proficient oral and written communication
* Ability to work 15-20 hours during the school year and full-time during school breaks
