Fulfillment Optimization Software Development Engineer II

At Amazon, we're revolutionizing the way we deliver packages to customers worldwide. Our Fulfillment Optimization systems process millions of requests per second, determining guaranteed delivery dates and optimal transportation paths. This mission-critical work impacts billions of dollars annually and sets new standards for online shopping experiences.

As a Software Development Engineer II in our Fulfillment Optimization org, you'll be part of a team responsible for machine learning models that predict and forecast outbound fulfillment outcomes. We rely on modern research science techniques, large-scale data analytics, and high-performance distributed computing to deliver value to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop a long-term vision for the space and guide technology investment in a scalable manner

Collaborate closely with ML scientists to influence our overall delivery strategy

Drive the system architecture, spearhead best practices, and help coach and develop junior engineers

Balance the team's software and machine learning products with small iterations to address downstream needs

Requirements:

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience

Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
