Austin, Texas, United States Amazon Full time
About the Role

We are seeking a talented Software Development Engineer II to join our team, focusing on delivering cutting-edge technology that enables Amazon to deliver packages efficiently and quickly. As a key member of our team, you will design, develop, test, and deploy software systems that make it possible to deliver packages to customers in two hours or less all over the world.

You will have the opportunity to conceptualize, design, build, test, and own software systems that transform the delivery experience for our drivers and customers. Your work will influence the technical direction of the team, and you will work with various technologies, including Java and Kotlin.

If you are a software engineer with a creative flare, problem-solving skills, and a desire to help drive Amazon's next generation of delivery, we want to talk with you.

A Day in the Life

As a Software Development Engineer II, you will start your day with purpose, diving into writing amazing code that powers the Amazon Flex app, enabling thousands of drivers to deliver packages quickly and seamlessly. You will build features that delight our customers and transform the delivery experience for our drivers.

You will work alongside a team of talented engineers, solving real-world challenges, optimizing routes, and enhancing the app's performance to make every delivery a smooth journey. Every line of code you write, every problem you solve, and every test you run brings us closer to redefining the way packages move from A to B.

About the Team

The Delivery Quality team focuses on eliminating issues that lead to imperfect deliveries. We protect the customer experience through proactive guardrails that prevent accidental or intentional misuse of Amazon Flex application while ensuring deliveries are carried out in accordance with customers' stated preferences.

We also step in to support drivers in times of uncertainty and provide actionable and visual guidance that sets drivers up for success.
