Job Title: Sous Chef

Overview:
The Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta is seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a critical member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective running of the kitchen and food production for our restaurant.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain the highest level of food and service standards in our Food & Beverage outlets
• Inspire a positive working environment and lead by example
• Oversee daily execution of all assigned kitchen food production and service execution
• Participate in the interview, hiring, coaching, and counseling procedures
• Write schedules and adhere to established budgetary guidelines for labor control
• Oversee the ordering, receiving, and storage of all food products
• Execute all special projects as given by the Executive Chef
• Participate in all long-range planning, including new menus, equipment, budget planning, and renovations
• Maintain food cost at budgetary guidelines
• Write and cost recipes
• Supervise all kitchen staff on a daily basis

Requirements:
• Experience in high-quality hotel or freestanding restaurant desirable
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to solve problems in high-stress situations
• Excellent food technique and cultural knowledge
• Advanced butchery knowledge
• Ability to plan and execute projects and quantify results
• Ability to delegate work with proper instructions and follow up
• Must be able to work standing on your feet for at least 8 hours per day
• Must be able to lift and carry at least 30 pounds
• Must have color vision and depth perception for food preparation and presentation
• Ability to communicate effectively within the kitchen
• Serve Safe certified food manager required
