Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to lead our kitchen team. As the lead cook for shift/location, you will be responsible for ensuring daily tasks are assigned and executed by kitchen staff, maintaining outstanding food quality, and acting as the manager on duty during assigned shifts and in the absence of the Site Executive Chef/Chef de Cuisine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain appropriate, therapeutic boundaries with patients and families at all times, adhering to HIPPA standards.
  • Provide a positive environment for supportive, recovery-based treatment.
  • Assist Executive Chef/Chef de Cuisine in ensuring the efficient and functional management of the kitchen.
  • Prepare meals utilizing prepared recipes while following recipes explicitly.
  • Taste prepared meals to ensure quality and correct issues before providing to patients, staff, or family.
  • Ensure presentation of prepared foods meets the highest quality standards required by the organization.
  • Meet and collaborate with Executive Chef/Chef de Cuisine and Registered Dietitians to ensure understanding of patient needs and expectations.
  • Deliver culinary programming to patients and families with documentation in the EMR as determined by department head.
  • Assist Executive Chef/Chef de Cuisine in maintaining kitchen and dining areas, tools, and equipment in a safe, functional, and organized manner.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience as a cook or Sous Chef or progressive foodservice experience required.
  • Experience in a healthcare or hospital setting preferred.
