The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental and health safety law, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the manufacturing, construction, or energy industry. In-house counsel experience is preferred.

The Senior Environmental Health Attorney will be responsible for:

  • Providing legal advice and guidance on environmental and health safety matters
  • Managing outside counsel and working collaboratively with other internal attorneys and business partners
  • Collaborating with the EHSS team on Company-wide EHSS initiatives
  • Counseling and training internal business partners on EHS laws, regulations, and compliance
  • Overseeing outside counsel in connection with EHS regulatory agency matters
  • Directly participating in informal conferences and proceedings with Environmental and Health & Safety regulatory agencies

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to cross-functional teams
  • Ability to quickly absorb material and distill pertinent information
  • Comfortable rolling up his/her sleeves and being hands-on
  • Juris Doctor Degree and admission in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar jurisdiction

Tesla offers a competitive salary range of $212,000 - $348,000 per year, plus cash and stock awards, and a comprehensive benefits package.
