Pressure Relief Valve Technician

Overview

The Pressure Relief Valve Technician is responsible for the comprehensive overhaul and assessment of various manufacturers' pressure relief valves, including but not limited to Farris, Consolidated, Crosby, and Anderson-Greenwood. This role involves troubleshooting and testing in both workshop and field settings, with direct reporting to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities


• Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by complying with company and customer safety protocols and legal regulations, while proactively identifying potential hazards.


• Execute all assigned tasks while upholding Apollo's Core Values.


• Conduct pressure relief valve repairs in alignment with Apollo's National Board Inspection Code approved quality manual.


• Maintain direct communication with clients to address their needs and concerns.


• Operate independently throughout the valve repair process.


• Guarantee that all testing and repair documentation meets quality system standards and National Board Inspection Code requirements.

Qualifications


• Preferred education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.


• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.


• Completion of Pressure Relief Valve Manufacturers Training Courses and/or certifications, as well as training from the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors, is preferred.


• Strong understanding of ASME and NBIC codes.


• Willingness to travel 0 to 30% of the time.

Work Environment


• This position is based out of a branch or site location.


• Fieldwork will involve both indoor and outdoor tasks in a plant environment.


• Collaborate with fellow crew members, supervisors, and client personnel.


• Work in areas with production machinery, which may have high noise levels.


• Compliance with safety equipment requirements as dictated by the safety department is mandatory.


• May require visiting multiple job sites within a single day and adapting to varying climate conditions.


• Occasional out-of-town travel may be necessary.

Physical and Mental Requirements


• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.


• Capability to walk and climb, except during non-field duties.


• Clear communication abilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, to effectively convey information.


• Adequate vision or observational skills, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform investigations.
