Operations Manager Job Description

Ferrotec is a world-class diversified manufacturer seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the planning, procurement, and production processes. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely manufacture of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inventory and Supply Chain Management: Oversee inventory management to ensure adequate supply of materials and products. Control forecast within ERP and coordinate with procurement to manage suppliers and raw materials.
  • Production Management: Plan, organize, and oversee the daily operations of the manufacturing facility. Develop and implement production schedules to meet company goals and customer demand.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
  • Team Management: Supervise, train, and mentor planning, procurement, and production staff. Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage the manufacturing budget. Monitor and control operational costs to meet financial targets.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with other departments such as sales, engineering, and customer service. Communicate effectively with senior management and provide regular updates on operations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field. MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient in using manufacturing software and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
