Position Overview:

The Lead Respiratory Care Specialist is tasked with overseeing the allocation of staff across various patient care areas, addressing clinical and operational challenges as they arise, and ensuring departmental performance standards are upheld. This role serves as a vital link between the Nursing Department and Medical staff, providing support and resources to Respiratory staff members. The Lead Specialist is also responsible for delivering clinical patient care as necessary during their regular duties.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • New Jersey Respiratory License, BLS certification, and a minimum of three years of clinical experience.

Preferred:

Certifications and Licenses:

  • BLS Certification.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Work hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Part-Time availability required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster positive relationships with all stakeholders, including employees, physicians, patients, visitors, and guests.
  • Utilize diverse feedback to enhance processes and services to meet and exceed stakeholder expectations.
  • Implement sound employee relations practices while maintaining high visibility and accessibility.
  • Respond promptly to all stakeholder requests and inquiries.
  • Assist the Department Educator in onboarding new employees.
  • Ensure new employees are thoroughly oriented to their responsibilities and duties.
  • Demonstrate and supervise procedures across various units to ensure new employees' comprehension.
  • Complete chart reviews, quality assurance/performance improvement reviews, and other assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Engage in planning for departmental services and accept assigned tasks to achieve results.
  • Effectively manage clinical and operational issues as they arise.
  • Encourage and facilitate communication between shifts using established processes.
