Position Overview:
Accountable for overseeing and enhancing the operations of the Maintenance Division within the facility, which includes personnel management, infrastructure upkeep, and equipment functionality. Must possess a thorough understanding of OSHA standards, operational procedures, and demonstrate exceptional analytical skills to ensure a well-organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Foster a culture of safety throughout the department and the entire facility. Actively identify and resolve safety issues.
• Manage routine and emergency machinery maintenance to guarantee its execution in a secure, precise, and timely manner.
• Direct the activities of team members, including adherence to work regulations, safety initiatives, attendance management, and disciplinary actions. Cultivate a collaborative atmosphere and proactive strategies to prevent union disputes. Explore avenues to enhance communication and employee engagement.
• Supervise the fulfillment of preventive maintenance schedules in accordance with the recommendations of equipment manufacturers, ensuring that necessary parts and components are procured as needed.
• Strategize and implement corrective measures in alignment with management directives.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant standards and local, state, and federal regulations.
Education and Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred. Equivalent practical experience in a relevant area is acceptable.
Required Experience:
• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic maintenance within a manufacturing context.
• Background in a manufacturing environment, including welding, fabrication, and assembly is preferred.
• Experience in troubleshooting metal cutting laser/plasma and forming machinery is advantageous.
• Familiarity with PLC systems, particularly Allen Bradley controls, is a plus.
• Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, NEC, NFPA, and EPA regulatory requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and communication abilities are essential.
• Proficient in using computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, QAD, Kronos, and others as necessary.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
• Frequent movement within the office and plant areas.
• Minimal hand, wrist, or finger movements for tasks such as typing, filing, and writing.
• Capability to lift various items as needed.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to exert 20-40 lbs of force over a distance of 40 feet.
Work Environment:
• Combination of office and industrial settings.
• Regular exposure to high noise levels.
• Seasonal variations in temperature in work areas.
• Must be able to work in areas that may lack climate control.
