Key Responsibilities
  • Patent Portfolio Management: Manage and prosecute a diverse portfolio of patents, including drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent applications domestically and internationally.
  • Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Work closely with engineering teams to understand technologies and harvest strategic inventions.
  • IP Training and Education: Provide training and education to internal teams on IP issues and patent filing processes.
  • Technology Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of AMD's technologies.
  • IP Guidance: Advise and educate the company on complex IP legal issues.
  • Patent-Related Matters: Provide guidance on patent-related matters, including patentability assessments, IP strategy, portfolio management, and enforcement.
  • IP Due Diligence: Assist in IP due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong Patent Experience: Strong experience, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications in hardware and software technologies, such as semiconductor technologies, digital circuitry, processors, memory solutions, artificial intelligence/machine learning, wired/wireless communication, and other hardware/software solutions and platforms.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in computer and semiconductor industry is a plus.
  • Foreign Patents and Applications: Experience with foreign patents and applications, IP analysis, IP strategy, validity, infringement desirable.
  • Integrity and Attention to Detail: High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Collaboration and Adaptability: Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
Academic Requirements
  • Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering: BS in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or related fields.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) Degree: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with admission to a state bar.
  • USPTO Registration: Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
