Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounting and Financial Intern at Freeport-McMoRan Inc.

Job Summary

The Accounting and Financial Intern will assist in performing accounting and financial activities, including assembling interrelated financial statements, reviewing and verifying the recording of expenditures, and monitoring and developing monthly reports of revenues and expenditures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Verify the recording of expenditures and ensure accuracy of financial data
  • Monitor and develop monthly reports of revenues and expenditures for projects and meet mandatory scheduled deadlines
  • Assist operations personnel and cost coordinators with financial analysis and reporting
  • Review and interpret financial reporting requirements, rules, and regulations
  • Assist in analyzing financial operations and recommending enhancements to policies or procedures
  • Perform other duties as required
Requirements
  • Full-time student currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university majoring in an appropriate Accounting/Finance discipline or closely related field; OR
  • Recent college graduate having graduated within 12 months prior to internship start date with a degree in Accounting/Finance or closely related field
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Possesses strong data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Highly accurate and detail-oriented
  • Possesses strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates initiative, organizational skills, and ability to work well under pressure
  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment
  • Must be able to demonstrate our core values of honesty, fairness, respect, trust, and integrity

The Accounting and Financial Intern will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders, and demonstrate a strong commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.

Compensation

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $20.00-$24.50/hour. Individual pay rates will be based on level of education and relevant experience.
