Job Title: Tailor & Uniform Attendant

Join our team as a Tailor & Uniform Attendant at AccorHotel, where you will play a vital role in ensuring our team members look their best. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for receiving, sorting, distributing, and altering uniforms to meet the high standards of our luxury hotel.

Responsibilities:
  • Process employee uniforms and dry cleaning with precision and attention to detail.
  • Prepare, count, and send out uniforms and employee clothing daily for laundering and dry cleaning.
  • Maintain uniform inventories through InvoTech and communicate needs to department managers via email.
  • Register employees on Invotech, maintain, and update employee records.
  • Perform uniform inventories quarterly and maintain a uniform manifest with accurate information.
  • Track uniforms with our computer system and keep the uniform area clean and organized.
  • Manage guest laundry, record, count, verify, inspect, deliver, and post charges.
  • Communicate with guests regarding any laundry issues.
  • Place uniforms on the conveyor belt when received from the outside company.
  • Manage in-house uniforms, maintain proper records, and uniforms in/out for onboarding and leaving colleagues.
  • Communicate with relevant departments to raise uniform fittings, sizing, and adjustments when required.
  • Tailor uniforms as needed for new hires and occasional adjustments.
  • Attend to small repairs of employee uniforms.
  • Work closely with laundry vendors for collection and delivery timing.
  • Assist guests with last-minute requests for cloth laundering using in-house equipment and pressing or steaming of clothing items.
  • Maintain equipment in a proper state of cleanliness.
  • Attend all briefings, meetings, and trainings assigned by management.
  • File and sort through invoices.
  • Able to multitask, take on different projects, and tasks assigned by superiors.
  • Maintain established cleaning and cleanliness procedures.
  • Follow department standards and assist in implementing new procedures for continuous improvement.
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Maintain all brand and quality luxury service standards.
  • Maintain consistency in accordance with Forbes/LQA and Fairmont standards.
  • Conduct self-audits of standards and participate in the feedback review of audits.
  • Approach all encounters with colleagues in a professional and personalized manner.
  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times and that all colleagues are committed to working safely.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies, including wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Comply with hotel security, fire, health, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain all uniform department areas organized and well-presented.
  • Report, turn in, and/or log all lost and found items in a timely manner according to established procedures.
  • Report any faulty equipment, maintenance needs, safety hazards, and other problems immediately to your supervisor.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the uniform room.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous similar experience is required.
  • Tailor and seams person skills required.
  • Experience operating sewing machine and Blind stitch machine.
  • Must have basic knowledge of computer and able to use Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with fittings, alterations, steaming, and ironing techniques.
  • Experience operating a heat seal machine, steam iron, scissors, and seam ripper.
  • Basic Knowledge in sewing machine repair and/or troubleshooting.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to follow directions, perform tasks with attention to detail, speed accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Must have ability to secure minimum levels of skills and abilities that would allow for a proficient job orientation based on specific tasks and methods. This is to provide a safe working environment according to OSHA regulations that would protect both the employee and coworkers.
